We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities: This role resides in the finance department and serves as a liaison between the business and technical teams. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting or business background and understanding of the end user layer of large scale ERP systems.

  • Hands on experience working with ERP applications such as Oracle, SAP or Workday.

  • Skills with building reports and dashboards in tools like OBI (Oracle Business Intelligence), Spotfire, Foundry or Power BI.

  • Eager to learn new tools/technology and apply to improving processes.

  • Collaborates closely with teams across the organization, including business end users and technical support.

  • Provides timely and effective support to end users.

  • Serves as the first tier of support for internal customers, including answering inquiries on system functionality and being able to discern user issues vs system issues.

  • Assists with root cause analysis and problem resolution.

  • Communicates issues and their impacts on the business to technical support, assists in reproducing the issues in non-production environments and validates resolution of these issues.

  • Supports month end close responsibilities – ensuring all required system process are completed timely and accurately.

  • Proactively addresses potential issues to prevent disruptions.

  • Assists in the testing and validation of patches and new software releases.

  • Ensures system process documentation is complete and maintained up-to-date.

  • Analyzes data, draws conclusions, and recommends actions and best practices.

  • Provides end user training.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience with large scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) administration (Oracle/SAP/Workday) coupled with solid understanding of accounting.

  • Skills with report writing tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence, Tableu, Foundry, Spotfire, Power BI or Alteryx

  • Ability to write procedures & training materials

  • Ability to plan, implement, and train users

  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Knowledgeable in Oracle GL, AR, Cash Management, Projects, Inventory, Chart of Accounts, and Security.

  • Knowledgeable in Oracle EPM (Account Reconciliation and Task Manager)
