Robert Half Accounting Manager in City of Industry, California

Description

Our client is a leading distribution company located in the City of Industry, CA. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong leadership skills, and have a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with senior management, providing insights and recommendations to drive financial performance.

  • Month-end Close: Oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity, optimizing working capital and coordinating with banking partners as needed.

  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax laws and regulations.

  • Supervision: Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function, driving initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, facilitating the annual audit process and addressing any audit inquiries or requests.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

  • CPA certification (preferred).

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Prior experience in the distribution or manufacturing industry (preferred).

  • Knowledge of state and local tax regulations (preferred).
