The final products we offer can go from single ingredients, to blends and full turnkey solutions, ready to be sold to the end consumers. These Probiotics Custom Solutions, Finished Formats in particular, are key driver of growth for the EMEA region.

EMEA Probiotics Product Specialist

As EMEA Probiotics Product Specialist you will play a key role in the growth of our regional Probiotics business, as you will primarily be responsible of the good execution of new custom projects from product development to first delivery. As such you will coordinate these projects with the multiple stakeholders involved, internal and external. You will also support customer specific requests and be involved in the life cycle management of the existing product portfolio as well as in the regional offer improvement and development.

In this role you will have great opportunities to learn and develop both your soft and hard skills. There is a good team spirit in the Health Division and other team members will be there to support your onboarding.

At regional level, these responsibilities will be split between 2 product specialists'.

The position reports to the RPLM Lead – EMEA, Probiotics and will be fully integrated in the Probiotics Product Management team and EMEA IFF Health team.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Support the EMEA Probiotics business sustainable growth through:

  • the good execution of new customer projects, in particular for custom products as Finished Formats, blends or single ingredients

  • the coordination and facilitation of interactions with regional tollers, with IFF manufacturing sites and with IFF support functions

  • the assistance to the Product Managers in supporting customer specific requests and in the management of the products lifecycle and the development of the regional offer

You will be expected to drive to success customer and improvement projects with a good sense of autonomy, while benefiting from the support of multiple functions and expertise. You will orchestrate teamwork around new products (custom and regional SKUs) and will be the voice of the business in support of the product managers to our external partners and to our internal support teams.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • New customer projects:

    • When a custom deal is approved, initiates and manages progress of all product workflows related to SKU creation (internal and external).

    • Provides input (i.e., cost estimates, packaging options, etc.) to help progress customer projects to a successful conclusion

    • Coordinate formulation developments, samples and trials, packaging development and registration dossier with regard to the future product launch.

  • Drives the product changes or improvements, complaints and product retirements for the existing portfolio from a business execution standpoint

  • Manages customer special (non-standard) requests for product information and samples

  • Occasionally leads cross functional projects to help drive key business initiatives and continuous improvement

  • Support the Product Managers in the development of the regional offer in terms of formulation, primary and secondary packaging

  • Be an active member of the IFF Health team (in particular Probiotics product management team and regional Health team): participation to regular team meetings, occasional participation to tradeshows and events within EMEA, customer meetings when necessary, back up other product specialists

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Not intended as en entry level position. Minimum years of experience required will depend on the nature of the related experience

  • Business Master Level degree. An additional food science related diploma is a plus

  • Work or Study experience in a foreign country or in an international context

  • Previous work experience in a company with a complex organizational structure

  • Prior experience with probiotics manufacturing operations and/or quality management systems is preferred.

  • Prior experience in probiotics, pharma, dietary supplements, or food ingredients industries is preferred.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with probiotics and be familiar with customers and product requirements associated with dietary supplements (preferred), food & beverage, Pediatric Nutrition and/or Pharma.

  • Examples of relevant backgrounds include technology/R&D, project management, business development, marketing, sales, and quality assurance

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. High aptitude and easiness to learn and use any other software, tools or systems related to the function if needed

  • Fluent in English; French is a plus

  • Ability to travel occasionally
