Ankura Senior Director, Digital Forensics in Frankfurt, Germany

This position supports the Ankura Data & Technology practice - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

The Digital Forensics practice is commonly engaged to assist with data collections, investigations, litigations and disputes, turnaround and process improvement engagements, and other critical business issues. The team’s consulting experience involves large, diverse, and often incomplete data sets across client enterprises including email, servers, cloud storage, social media, mobile devices, instant messaging, and collaboration tools. The team collaborates with eDiscovery, cybersecurity, data analytics and investigatory experts to assess and respond to both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of problems.

A Senior Director (equivalent to Senior Manager level) in the Digital Forensics practice is responsible for utilizing best practices that includes, following industry standards procedures for data collection and documentation, understanding the EDRM model and planning for downstream processes, and to provide consulting services to clients when analysing data.

You will work with clients – businesses, government entities, and/or law firms – to address their most complex and pressing concerns. You will apply advanced strategic approaches to assist clients with complex information management and analysis challenges by combining forensic analysis, data analytics techniques, sophisticated technology tools, and information management principles to help clients make well-informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

· Management of our Digital Forensics Lab ensuring all equipment and software is up-to-date and fit for purpose.

· Designing and implementing intelligent workflow solutions to quickly identify the key facts, details, and merits of the case.

· Proactive research and recommendations of technology solutions and process improvements that will ensure continued defensibility.

· Preservation and analysis of electronically stored information (“ESI”) using industry standard tools and practices.

· Secure transfer of digital evidence while maintaining chain of custody.

· Maintain integrity of electronically stored information for admission in a court of law.

· Day-to-day client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in a given engagement.

· Providing project support to team leads and clients.

· Delivering daily updates of projects engagements to team leads.

· Responding to client requests and setting clear expectations to internal and external stakeholders.

· Conducting quality control checks to ensure accuracy of tasks/deliverables related to searches, review workflow, productions, processing and exports.

· Work with team leads to learn and take ownership of project tasks.

· Coordinating with client contacts to provide project deliverables, progress, timelines and advise on strategy, workflow and best practices.

· Designing and implementing intelligent workflow solutions to quickly identify the key facts, details, and merits of the case.

Requirements:

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred degree digital forensics, engineering, computer science, information technology, data analytics, or work experience in a related field.

· Demonstrable experience working in the Digital Forensics and/or Incident Response space.

· Possess strong team-oriented personality characteristics: hard-working, thoughtful, and collaborative, with a positive outlook and confidence.

· Experience with forensic software: EnCase, Access Data Forensic Toolkit, Cellebrite , Linux-based forensic tools, Magnet Axiom, Blackbag or similar forensic toolkits.

· Possess strong quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills.

· Database/Programming skills is a plus: Html, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Python, R.

· Email Systems: Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, eVault, email archive platforms.

· Cloud-based and chat collaboration platforms such as SLACK, Dropbox, Box, etc.

· System administration experience in Microsoft, Linux/Unix, or Macintosh.

· Experience with eDiscovery Review/Processing Platforms is a plus: Relativity, Brainspace, Disco, Nuix, Law, MindsEye.

· Ability to demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills.

· Able to adapt quickly in handling multiple/evolving tasks as a result of new engagements and/or re-prioritized deadlines.

· Highly motivated, eager to learn, willing to travel, and able to motivate others.

· Able to utilize technology to solve complex problems.

· Travel flexible both nationally and internationally.
