About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Sustainment Cmd, 404th Army Field Supt Bde, Army Field Supt Bn CHASN, Ops Div. Please see Additional Information for TERM information. Responsibilities Supervises and directs the Logistics Integration Branch personnel consisting of Logistics Management Specialists and management support personnel to assure optimum performance of all assigned organizational and logistical support functions. Conducts planning sessions to lead the LIB staff to identify APS-3 and reimbursable mission workload requirements, determine equipment needs, identify facility requirements, and provide input to local plans and procedures. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. Reviews work methods and procedures for opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness and has responsibility for finding ways to eliminate significant bottlenecks and barriers to production. Serves as principal point of contact on all APS-3 force modernization, production, equipment modifications, C4I, Class V (ammunition) and requirements taskings assigned to the LIB for action/execution. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes logistics management support and guidance to resolve technical and complex logistics operational issues developing logistics policy and procedures to effectively execute the logistics support mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next of lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Temporary Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 13 months. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
