University of Pennsylvania Academic Abdominal Transplant Surgeon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of kidney transplantation and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery or hold equivalent international certification, and have completed an ASTS accredited multi-organ transplant fellowship.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, surgical residents and transplant fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include duties in the specialty areas noted above.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include studies in the noted specialties and/or associated scientific fields. Strong experience with, and productivity in, basic, translational, and/or clinical research will be required.

The clinical practice for this position will be focused at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, with secondary duties at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
