Insight Global Data Analyst in San Diego, California

Job Description

An up-and-coming Medical Device Company is seeking a Data Analyst to join their growing team in San Diego. In this position, you will play a critical role in lowering the burden of diabetes through advanced automated insulin delivery systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diabetes, data, analytics, and data visualization. Experience in developing user, health, and product analytics will be a significant advantage. Bachelors or Equivalent experience in Data Science or related field required.

Skills and Requirements

User, Product and Health Outcome Analytics:

  • Ability to extract from Amazon databases and query relevant data using Tableau.

  • Profile, understand and clean user and device data to provide high quality answers.

  • Summarize and visualize data in meaningful ways.

  • Explore data and develop and understand from the data to answer key questions.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking to understand data that is used, and which data should be filtered (or not filtered) based on the question being asked of the data.

  • Knowledge of statistics, and understanding how to report data in the most meaningful way (mean, median, standard deviation, min/max, etc.)

  • Setup Tableau dashboard to report on product, user and health outcome analytics and enable self-servicing of dashboards.

  • Interface with partners in the business to understand needs and provide answers from data.

  • Select appropriate visualizations for specific metrics (graphs, charts, etc.)

Diabetes Domain Knowledge

Bring existing knowledge on the following:

  • Diabetes data (glucose readings, insulin dosing, meal intake, and other diabetes data types)

  • Common diabetes analytics such as average glucose, glucose standard deviation, time in range, coefficient of variation, hypo and hyperglycemia, basal and bolus total daily dose, etc.

  • Clinical working knowledge in the understanding of how carbohydrates, insulin, stress, exercise, and other factors affect glucose levels.

  • Ability to quickly find relevant research and literature relating to glucose control using insulin therapy.

Documentation and Testing

  • Ability to validate that analytics are performed correctly, to ensure answers are trustworthy.

  • Document code, tool setup procedures, etc. to enable other team members to repeat analysis.

  • Document and present results of analysis and data exploration. - Experience working at a Diabetes focused Biotech company

  • Programming skills in Python

  • Able to work independently, with little oversite null
