Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Senior NGS Data Analyst in Tarrytown, New York

We are seeking a Senior NGS Data Analyst to join our Regeneron Genetic Center's (RGC) Genome Informatics team to provide high-level support to R&D and QC efforts through engineering and research analysis. These efforts span the RGC’s full sequencing fleet (e.g. Illumina, Ultima, PacBio) and production informatics portfolio, including ultra-large scale genomics and multiomics on the RGC’s 2.5M+ samples. Under the direction of the Production Sequencing Informatics R&D Lead, you will develop and execute analysis code to perform a variety of research tasks including evaluation of new sequencing assays, productionization of new methods, and analysis of existing data to improve QC and production performance. As a Senior NGS Data Analyst, a typical day might include the following:

  • Designing computational experiments to inform Sequencing R&D efforts and then perform the coding, testing, and execution of the experiment and the analysis of the results, with the support of the R&D lead

  • Maintaining extensive data standards and resources to enable rapid, large-scale validation of sequencing analysis updates

  • Creating visualizations and present to genome informatics and data engineering leads the results of these experiments, synthesizing feedback for subsequent iterations

  • Developing production quality tools to support R&D efforts

  • Working with the Engineering Lead, ensure all code, documentation and methods meet production standards

In order to be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Bioinformatics with 4+ years of relevant experience in genome informatics (or Master’s with 2+ years' experience). We need someone with strong expertise with Unix and Python. Mastery of software development standard processes including code repositories (GitHub, Sourceforge, Bitbucket), software development life cycle, version control, testing is required. Must have experience with NGS tools, methods and formats (Samtools, BCFtools, VCFtools, BWA, GATK, Picard, BEDtools, PLINK). We need someone with a strong understanding of NGS and genomics research concepts. Must have proficiency in Unix- and cloud-based compute environments (DNAnexus preferred). Experience with data visualization (Pandas or R) required.

Salary Range (annually)

$90,700.00 - $148,100.00
